The Sinclair Method (TSM)
in the most basic of terms:
Someone whose goal is to reduce or even eliminate their drinking takes a medication called Naltrexone an hour before their first drink of the day.
Over time, this simple action can control alcohol cravings and give you back the control over when and how much YOU choose to drink. *

* Of course, Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) are a bit more complex than this, but this is the essence of what is known as The Sinclair Method, or Targeted Naltrexone.
My goal is to provide all the information you need to understand TSM and to help you take control of your relationship with alcohol in a way that is relatable and interesting.
Here you will find:
Resources for you to access,
an introduction to what a TSM coach can do to help you on your journey,
& reference materials about the science behind AUD and TSM.
I am always excited to talk to anyone about any of these topics.
If you don't find the answer you seek on my site, email, call, or set up a free half-hour consultation.
ABOUT ME
ABOUT ME/EXPERIENCE
I began in case management with people with what is termed Serious Mental Illness (schizophrenia, major depression, and so forth). After completing my master's degree in counseling psychology, I worked in community mental health, with primarily, but not exclusively, children and families. Client concerns ranged from behavior and social issues, ADHD, OCD, family communication and dynamics, parenting skills, and life stage difficulties.
After leaving the field for many years, Covid highlighted the need for social services in a way I could no longer ignore, and I felt drawn back to needing to serve people in some meaningful capacity. Concurrently, I found the solution to my own struggles with years of the binge drinking that had taken over my life. These two events came together at just the right time, and I became determined to educate about the issue of alcohol use disorder and to coach people through The Sinclair Method. I am passionate about AUD and TSM, along with the many associated & fascinating topics, from brain chemistry to the history of alcohol use disorder, and how humans have long attempted to cope with something that is harmful to so many individuals and society as a whole.
Of course, like all of you, my career and drinking issues do not define me. I am also the housemate to 4 cats, the daughter to a mother who I am slowly watching disappear into dementia, a widow, a part of my local music scene, an avid reader and researcher, a gardener, a writer and photographer, and someone who lives with the strengths and challenges of ADHD and depression.
I hope you get to know me through my blog, in addition to learning about AUD and TSM. And I would love to get to know you through coaching sessions should you feel we might be a good fit. Please feel free to contact me through email, calling or text, or by scheduling a free half-hour consultation.
